Westsylvania Art Exhibit runs from May 21st-23rd
Arts abound so stick around in Downtown Indiana over Westsylvania Weekend (AKA Memorial Day). May 22nd kicks off the weekend with an Open Arts Exhibition sponsored by the Indiana Arts Council and Indiana Art Association working together to feature the outstanding depth and variety of art from our region. The event is so significant that Fox Clark and we at the Artists Hand are making a double opening to feature all the work, creating the perfect art crawl.
Westsylvania 5k Run:
May 23rd: 10AM-12PM | Westsylvania Arts Fest 5k Run

Join friends and family Saturday, May 23rd for the inaugural Westsylvania 5k on the Hoodlebug Trail. This 5K event can be your chance to run for your best time, have a "fun run," or get a good walk in before enjoying the mingle downtown surrounded by great jazz and blues all day. The run starts at 10:00am. This exciting event features a 5k race suitable for seasoned runners or casual walkers, all in support of the Indiana Arts Council and the Westsylvania Weekend, kicking off the Westsylvania Arts Festival and the Delaney Chevrolet Westsylvania Jazz and Blues Festival taking place on Philadelphia Street right after the race. Join us for art, music, and local food and beer. All participants will receive a race gift and finisher medal.

May 23rd: 11AM-6PM | Westsylvania Arts Fest Downtown: Art Vendors and Art Demos Abound! 18 fine art vendors, demonstrations and hands-on experiences on Philly Street and in IRMC Park

All day May 23rd you can enjoy live music on Philly Street in front of S&T Bank with the Westsylvania Jazz and Blues Festival featuring local and national musicians including the student All Star Band in the morning, and regional/national acts in the afternoon/evening. But wait, there’s more! While you’re jammin’ to the music you can wander among the tents of art vendors up and down Philly Street and then take a turn into IRMC park for demonstrations and hands-on art-making experiences. New this year will be a “Lucky Seven” artists chosen for their ability to knock out a master-work in one day while you watch. And then auctioned off just before the final music act begins. Get on the phone and call your friends to stay the weekend!
