About the Event

(August 9th-August 14th)

A reception is scheduled for August 14th, 5-7PM

UPDATE: Through this exhibit, we are supporting a new, young artist, Sydney Jones! Come see her art and support her work.

Art helps us have conversations and express our worldviews. The Hand strives to be a safe space for Black and Indigenous Persons of Color (BIPOC/POC).  Yet, we realize and acknowledge we have no artists of color represented in our gallery. We aim to change this. We work to support the entire Indiana Community and each day we work to be better. Leading into our quarantine series, we encourage BIPOC and POC artists to submit their art and poetry for this immediate exhibit, and its continuing presence into Sheltering In Place.  Your voice matters. If you live within 35 miles of Downtown Indiana and would like to show your work in these exhibits and into the future as a commissioned artist, please contact brian@theartistshandgallery.com so we can work to represent you.  Selected works from “Black Lives Matter”chosen by the gallery will carry over into “Sheltering In Place.” A reception is scheduled for August 14th, 5-7pm depending on our ability to provide a safely interactive event.

All of us must wear masks and observe social distancing principle. Following state and federal guidelines we will allow up to 25 people in the space at one time.
