Intermediate Level: Watercolor is wild and even elusive. You must learn to work with it rather than try (and fail) to control it. If you embrace this aspect of watercolor, your watercolor paintings will improve dramatically and quickly. Key to successfully working with watercolor (or any medium!) is composition. Without a strong composition, all the little idiosyncrasies of watercolor will wreck your vision. With a strong composition, those idiosyncrasies will help build your vision. How is this done? What makes a good composition? This workshop will answer those questions (and more!). Over the course of three weeks, we will walk through the elements and principles of design, demonstrate why they matter and how they matter, all with a special focus on watercolor.
