About the Event
Former IHS class clown, Gazette columnist, and author of “Meat & Potatoes of Life” comes home for comedy storytelling event.
Author and humorist Lisa Smith Molinari returns to her hometown as the featured storyteller at the Artists Hand Gallery and Espresso Bar in Indiana. Molinari will take the mic at 11AM Saturday, September 14th.
In her show, “How Growing Up in Indiana, P.A. Made Me ̶R̶i̶c̶h̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶F̶a̶m̶o̶u̶s̶ Funny,” Molinari says she’ll demonstrate the humor that won her the title Class Clown of Indiana Area Senior High School class of 1984.
“Handling stresses with humor has always been my best coping strategy, first as an insecure teenager, later as a navy wife and mom,” says Molinari. “I learned early in life that a bit of comedy makes it easier to deal with anything from grumpy people, to dust bunnies, to bad breath… but when all else fails, a quart of ice cream works pretty good too.”
She began writing humorous columns and essays in 2007 when her navy husband was deployed for a year. Today, Molinari is an award-winning syndicated columnist and author, whose work has appeared in national publications including the Washington Post. Her column, “The Meat and Potatoes of Life” has been featured in the Indiana Gazette, and now appears weekly in Stars and Stripes and dozens of other publications worldwide.
Her upcoming book, The Meat and Potatoes of Life: My True Lit Com, is a humorous memoir about her journey from Pennsylvania teen to attorney-turned-Supermom. It will be available May 1, 2020 from Elva Resa Publishing.
She has contributed to essays to several books and will sign copies of three of them-Stories Around the Table: Laughter, Wisdom, and Strength for Military Life, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Military Families, and Chicken Soup for the Soul: Spirit of America- all for sale at the event.
