Kathy Sartoris Rafferty

My name is Kathy Sartoris Rafferty and I am a self taught artist. I have been drawing from the time I was very young but started painting in 2002. I have always enjoyed doing portraits but have found animals, still life, scenery and anything that is a challenge to be extremely gratifying. I love it all!

The mediums I enjoy using are water based oils and acrylics. Oils have become my favorite medium because of their slower drying time.

Several Latrobe area schools have purchased my paintings for their permanent art collections and I have had two of my paintings made into puzzles by Joyful Nook Gallery of Durango, Colorado and also sold online (jngpuzzles.com). I recently had a painting used for the cover of a children’s book “Letters from Liza”. I also have paintings in numerous states and internationally.

I am on the board of the Latrobe Art Center and have paintings on display there. I am now so happy to be a part of The Artists Hand Gallery!

“All of my paintings carry with them a little piece of my heart.”
