Hsiao Busch
I am from Taiwan, a subtropical island in the Pacific. I have always had an interest in art since I was young. While working there as an elementary teacher, I had a desire to pursue art. So I came to Pennsylvania. With a MFA in art and my teaching background, I am now an elementary art teacher. My mediums are mainly oils and watercolors. I enjoy the different processes and results. I am mostly inspired by random objects and landscapes that surround my daily life. To me, life is accumulated fragments of moments, events, experiences, and memories.
On Sheltering In Place 2020:
Growing
During this “great pause”, I find inspiration in my own shelter, my studio/garden. Taking care of my house plants and observing them daily not only brings me inner peace, also accentuates my role as an artist.
