"I like that there's a certain amount of pressure attached to every line I make because there's no erasing."
Welder, mechanical technician, and artist, Cameron Swartz has been drawing since he can remember, mainly with pencils, markers, and pens. He never 'plans' what he is going to draw in a sketch. Swartz just has a back log of things that he's inspired by or interested in and that's what comes out when he puts pen to paper.
Starting with a marker or pen, sometimes he starts with patterns or shapes and then forces in into something. He sees where his work goes on it's own.
He is inspired by 'untrained' artists. Folk art, native and tribal art, traditional tattoos, prison tattoos, and cartoons. Drawing is a way for him to get his ideas out and make sense out of confusion.
